Second Layer was founded on a simple belief: the best pieces shouldn't be worn once and forgotten. We exist to give exceptional designer clothing a second life — and to put it in the hands of people who will actually wear it.

How We Source

Every item in our edit is sourced personally. That means each piece passes through our hands individually, selected for quality, condition, and character.

We focus on heritage brands and timeless styles: the kind of garments built to last decades, not seasons. Ralph Lauren, classic outerwear, Harrington jackets, and collegiate pieces that hold their integrity long after their first owner has moved on.

Authentication

Authenticity is non-negotiable and carefully checked for. Before anything is listed, we verify it against brand-specific criteria: labels, stitching, hardware, construction, and provenance where available. Items that don't pass are not listed — full stop.

If you ever have a question about a specific piece, reach out before you buy. We're happy to share additional detail, close-up imagery, or any documentation we hold.

Condition Grading

Pre-loved means pre-owned — and we're honest about that. Every listing carries a condition grade so you know exactly what to expect before it arrives.

We photograph every item in natural light and include detail shots of any notable wear. What you see is what you get.

Why Pre-Loved

Buying pre-loved isn't a compromise — it's a considered choice. It keeps quality garments in circulation, reduces demand on virgin production, and often means acquiring something genuinely rare at a fraction of its original cost.
